East Sussex Local Footpath Warden AGM
Prior to the Local Footpath Warden AGM that took place at East Dean Village Hall on Saturday 28th March 2026 a group of Local Footpath Wardens took part in a circular 6 mile walk. The walk was arranged and headed by Malcolm McDonnell.
High Weald Walking Festival
The 9th High Weald Walking Festival will run from Saturday 12 to Sunday 20 September 2026.
Join Us in Celebrating the Opening of the England Coast Path
As many of you will know, after a 25 year campaign by the Ramblers, the King Charles III England Coast Path was officially opened by His Majesty at an event in March at Cuckmere Haven attended by, amongst others, our Chief Executive. This is an amazing achievement – at 2,700 miles the KCIIIECP is the world’s longest managed coastal path. It has taken 19 years, seven prime ministers and £28m to create this new National Trail.
‘Now Open’ : Use it or Lose it!
Walkers regularly complain about the state of the infrastructure on the footpath network across East and West Sussex. Whilst there are undoubtedly areas where no amount of reporting seems to reap any reward, our local footpath wardens and footpath maintenance volunteers continue to play a vital role in ensuring that issues are identified, highlighted and addressed.
