At the 2026 Area Annual General Meeting, held on Saturday 24 January at East Dean and Friston Village Hall and hosted by Beachy Head Group, we celebrated the Fiftieth Anniversary of the creation of Sussex Ramblers.

The Meeting was joined by Ramblers’ Director of England, Jack Cornish, pictured above cutting one of three (!) birthday cakes baked for the event by Brighton and Hove Ramblers’ member Jeanette Priest.

Ahead of the Meeting almost thirty of us took part in a windy but very enjoyable walk (also pictured) over a number of the Seven Sisters, led by Beachy Head Group Walks Programme Coordinator Bob Cook.
