About Sussex Area Ramblers

Sussex Area of the Ramblers was formed in 1976. Membership stands at around 3500, with nine local groups throughout Sussex, and one county-wide Young Walkers group.

We are working on behalf of all walkers to:
Protect the network of public paths
Safeguard the beauty of Britain's countryside
Campaign for greater access to open country
Provide information and advice on all aspects of walking.
Come and try a walk with us before joining.

By becoming a member you can help further our objectives. Enjoy walking with a Ramblers Group near you!

About The Ramblers

The Ramblers exists to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring; and to promote respect for the life of the countryside. We encourage walking; protect rights of way; defend the beauty of the countryside; and for many years have campaigned for freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country. The Ramblers is a democratic, voluntary organisation, registered as a charity (no.1093577) and a company limited by guarantee (number 4458492).
